Author Biography:

R. Nicholas Burns is Professor in the Practice of Diplomacy and International Politics at the Harvard Kennedy School. He is a former under secretary of state for political affairs (2005-08), ambassador to NATO (2001-05), and ambassador to Greece (1997-2001).Jonathon Price is the associate director of the Aspen Strategy Group. Joseph S. Nye Jr. is University Distinguished Service Professor at the Harvard Kennedy School and a former assistant secretary of defense for international security affairs and chair of the National Intelligence Council. Brent Scowcroft, president of the Scowcroft Group, served as national security adviser to Presidents Ford and George H.W. Bush.
