A philosopher of education, his work draws on virtueethics, hermeneutics, and psychoanalysis. His scholarly interestsinclude professional ethics and teacher identity, dialogue and theteacher-student relationship, liberal learning and the humanisticimagination, professional education and the philosophy ofwork.
