This is a hard-hitting follow up from Minuit with familiar break beats, and features the first single “Fuji”.
The songs are great, Ruth Carr’s vocals are breathy + seductive, and the instrumentation is a flawless blend of electronica meets indie pop styles.
Anyone fond of Fang, Goldenhorse, Lucid 3 plus the likes of Goldfrapp, Prodigy, Unkle and Tricky should absolutely love ‘The Guards Themselves’. It’s another sterling example of fine kiwi music – one that we absolutely love.
