Author Biography

Pixie McKenna MB BCh BAO is an Irish doctor and television presenter. She is best known for her work on the Channel 4 series Embarrassing Illnesses and Embarrassing Bodies and BBC Three's Freaky Eaters. Having completed diplomas in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, as well as Paediatrics and Dermatology, she qualified as a General Practitioner in 1999. She now runs her own practice in Ireland as well as working in a London clinic. She is a regular contributor to radio, hosting the 'air your ailments slot' on Ireland's Ray Darcy show. The Handbag Doctor is Pixie's first book.
