The second season of “The Inbetweeners” is as side-splittingly funny as the first.
The four central characters are typical high school boys. Will, as a result of his parents' divorce, has had to leave his posh private school for an “inferior” state education. Simon keeps trying to win the love of cute blonde, Carli. Jay constantly boasts about his imaginary sexual conquests. Neil is just gormless.
Together, this strange quartet of unlikely friends lurch from one awkward situation to the next, desperately trying to lose their virginity, sabotaging each other and themselves in the attempt.
Will, in particular, finding himself presented with opportunities to enjoy himself with the most attractive young women, will always say or do the one thing that is guaranteed to ruin his chances.
This is a UK series, so each season is only 6 episodes, but every episode is a riot of laughs from beginning to end.
There is a great set of extras, but you may want to give the “cast video diaries” a miss. Their only apparent purpose is to convince the viewer that the lives of actors Simon Bird (Will), Joe Thomas (Simon), Blake Harrison (Neil) and James Buckley (Jay) are as dull and boring as their characters' lives are chaotic and hilarious.
