In the course of this investigation, more than 50 witnesses were either interviewed or deposed. Liter-ally tens of thousands of pages of documentary evidence were reviewed at the agencies and more than pages were acquired. In addition, the Committee relied a great deal on testimony taken during the course of its investigation of alleged plots to assassinate foreign leaders, especially testimony relating to knowledge of those plots.
