Description

This final book in our three-volume series on WWII Italian Army organisation, uniforms and equipment covers the division of Italy's forces after the Armistice of 1943. Many units were raised by Mussolini's RSI to fight on beside the Germans, with entirely new and often impressive uniforms. Others joined and were equipped by the Allies; and simultaneously, a bitter civil war pitched Fascist security units against the partisan bands of the large and diverse pro-Allied guerrilla movement

Author Biography:

Stephen Andrew has, in the last few years, established himself as one of teh best illustrators of military subjects working today. The detailed, gritty artwork he has produced for Osprey has made him one of our most popular artists. Born in 1961 in Glasgow, Stephen is entirely self-taught and worked as a junior in advertising and design agencies before becoming a freelance illustrator in 1993. Philip S. Jowett was born in Leeds in 1961, and has been interested in military history for as long as he can remember. His original interest lies in small and little-known wars and armies; before beginning his series on the Italian Army of World War II he was the author of the much praised Maa 306 'Chinese Civil War Armies 1911-49'.
