I found this movie disappointing. All the bits you laugh at in the trailer- That's the funny bits in the entire movie. It was slow, boring, drawn-out…more like a vanity piece for the author/narrator. Nothing like I was expecting at all.

Good story line, based on almost truth. Excellent character acting.
Amazing acting once again from Maggie Smith. This woman really gets into character and is a pleasure to watch in any role!!
The Lady In The Van
Based on the true story of Miss Shepherd (Smith), a woman of uncertain
origins
who “temporarily” parks her van in Alan Bennett’s (Jennings) driveway
and
proceeds to live there for 15 years. What begins as a begrudged favor becomes
a
relationship that will change both their lives. Acclaimed director Nicholas
Hytner
reunites with iconic writer Alan Bennett to create this rare and touching
portrait.
