Author Biography:

Melanie Maddy born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. She lives on Camano Island, Washington with her husband, 2 dogs, 1 cat and too many chickens. Melanie spent summers with her Grandparents who lived in Mazama, Washington. As a child the trip from Mazama to Winthrop and Twisp to get groceries was an all day event. A day with views of the Methow Valley and river, fields of deer and other wildlife, bridges, roadways and the quaint small towns of Winthrop and Twisp Washington. "The Long Way To Town" is her second children's book. She is a singer-songwriter and author of "In A Child's Eyes and The Long Way To Town" Her books are a reflective collection of childhood experiences she wanted to pass down to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. To encourage slowing down to enjoy the beauty of those around us and this beautiful world we live in.
