Description

In the 1970s, William S.Burroughs and artist Malcolm McNeill embarked on an epic project to produce a book length meditation on time, power and control that evoked the Mayan Codices and the God of Death. Although Ah Pook was never finished in its intended form, Malcolm McNeill included nearly a hundred paintings, illustrations and sketches for the book and these, finally, are seeing the light of day here. Burroughs' text is not included yet, even without the context of worlds, they represent a beautiful precursor to the graphic novel.

Author Biography:

Malcolm Mc Neill is an Emmy award winning artist and writer, and Observed While Falling is the account of an event that should be of interest to all creative minds, regardless of their interest in William Burroughs, or familiarity with his other work. Sara J. Van Nes is the author of Watchmen as Literature: A Critical Study of the Graphic Novel (McFarland, 2010). She currently lives in New Jersey, where she teaches English and a course on graphic novels and visual literacy.
