This story will encourage your children to treat everyone they encounter with kindness and love and also inspire organic ideas on how they should view differences in others or even themselves. Nathalie Marblehead the main character that kids love, was born "different" from all the other Marbleheads in Marblehead Land. She is born square unlike all of her other friends and relatives who are born perfectly round. Nathalie's brother and sister decide to go on a journey to help "cure" her so she can fit in with the others. What's so bad about being "different" anyway? You will be delighted when you see how Nathalie overcomes her diversity and realizes being unique isn't so bad after all. *The Marbleheads: Isn't Easy Being Square was written by a brother and sister whose sibling was born with cerebral palsy and has the added benefit of preparing children for that potentially difficult time when they don't feel like they are fitting in perfectly with others. It conveys and reinforces to children the idea that despite diversity/disability each individual is perfect and beautiful in their own way.*
Brian and Danielle were exposed to differences watching their sister Nathalie grow up with severe cerebral palsy. Despite Nathalie's disabilities, she has taught them more about life than anyone else. She has defined who they have become as adults. Danielle was inspired to help other people. She has chosen a career as an Emergency Medicine physician in San Diego, California. Brian is a real estate entrepreneur in South Florida, and he enjoys writing inspirational positive stories. Nathalie continues to touch the lives of everyone she comes in contact with in her home in Darien, Connecticut.
