French horror in which a man wakes up after a party only to discover that not only is he completely alone, but that the streets have been invaded by zombies. Realising his fate, Sam (Anders Danielsen Lie) barricades himself inside the apartment and hatches a plan for survival. When loneliness begins to set in, however, Sam's mind starts to unravel as he takes risks in order to seek out other survivors.
Will he find a way out of the deathtrap he is holed up in and avoid becoming another victim?
*** Critics Review for The Night Eats the World ***
- * " To Rocher's credit, this is not nearly as tedious as it sounds. " * – Katie Rife , AV Club
- * " If you don't get too hung up on the film's many contrivances – particularly its uninspired finale and any scene where Lie speaks – you might find The Night Eats the World to be sufficiently moody. " * – Simon Abrams , Village Voice
- *" Even as the story drifts off, Night Eats the World derives its power from a beguiling, provocative implication: It's hard to confront a hostile world, but gathering the courage to do so doesn't make the job any easier. " * – Eric Kohn , indieWire
- " La nuit a dévoré le monde starts off in familiar zombie territory, but quickly distinguishes itself as more of a character drama about one man's isolation and despair. " – Joe Lipsett , B*tch Stole My Remote
