Description

In the underground world of Alvarra where the once-oppressed dark-elven women have overthrown their masters, the Nightwing's daughters will inherit her throne. Men are enjoyed and protected, but not allowed to hold positions of power. It has been this way for centuries, and peace has reigned. Until now. The dying Nightwing's son has vowed to kill his sisters one by one, until he can reinstate the rule of the Siadhin Lords. When the eldest sister is assassinated, the second daughter Tiala does not wait to be next. She escapes to seek champions from the Upworld lands, where she faces prejudice, superstition and the Scourge of Elves-the sunlight which can kill her. Tiala's journey through the surface lands will bring her peril, new philosophies and unexpected friends. With a tormented wizard, a fledgling shape-changer, a novice monk and two bitter enemies, can Tiala defeat her brother and bring peace to Alvarra? And at what cost?
