Description

Some wonder why our families don't accept us for who we are and instead for what they would like us to be. We all can choose what we'd like to be in life -- Doctors, Lawyers, Teachers, Mayors, Senators and even Presidents. But there are others who are living the life some may call D.L. (down low). What we fail to realize is that there are those D.L. in every family, whether rich or poor. Why can't we all get along with one another and stop hating each other for differing beliefs? The Other Side of Me tells the story of a rich doctor from Washington, DC in search of true love. He knows by being rich, a doctor, and most of all an African American in DC, he can get anybody he wants. But this doctor doesn't want just anybody, he wants someone to love him for him, and not for just what he has or is, and most of all not because of his skin color. When the doctor meets a new patient that catches his eye, he knows that he is not supposed to be getting involved with any of his patients. But when their two eyes joined together it was like the 4th of July in December, fire crackers bursting in the air, and sparkles sizzling into the sky. Oh my, can this be the love we've all been looking for? Whether you're gay, straight, bi-sexual, lesbian or on the down low, you need to stand up for yourself, and not let people choose your lifestyle for you. The Other Side of Me challenges the reader with the question...can you give love the way it supposed to be given?
