This was such an engrossing & gripping read! I find that Sharon Bolton books hook me in slowly but surely until the story grabs me & I have to keep reading. I thought that the characters and the plot were fantastic, and I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen to them. Megan takes the blame for a tragic accident while her friends remain free, but they each owe her a favour of her choice when she gets out of prison. The six friends are all unlikeable to some extent in this story – Megan justifiably so after being in prison for 20 years with no contact from her friends. I loved the way the tension & terror built through the story, going from reputations being ruined to lives being on the line. This was well crafted & excellently paced. It was an immersive heart in mouth read & I loved every minute of it.
