Description

A happy little possum in the forest is content to hang by his tail from a tree until a crowd of people on a picnic mistake his upside-down smile for a frown and turn his world topsy-turvy. A memorable satire of cultural intolerance, strikingly illustrated in black-and-white, by the famed animator, film director, and author of The Bear That Wasn't.

Author Biography:

Frank Tashlin (1931-1972) was a well-known animator, screenwriter, and director. He worked for Warner Brothers, Disney, and Columbia as an animator; wrote gags for Lucille Ball and the Marx Brothers; and directed several films, including The Girl Can't Help It and Rock-a-Bye-Baby. His illustrated books, including The Bear That Wasn't, are satirical in nature and appeal to adults as well as children.
