Two lovers live in the same City yet they only see each other 3 times in thirty years. Konrad and Sophie are seperated as they attempt to escape from East Berlin in 1961.

From that point on, they live their lives in two diametrically opposing worlds: Sophie in the West, Korad in the East. How do they cope with the fact that a moments hesitation on Konrads past during their excape through the citys sewerage system keeps them apart for almost thirty years? What was coincidence and what was choice? And what happens to a love that can only be expressed secretly and obliquely: leaving it wide open to emotional pitfalls.
