He is most remembered for his series of novels featuring the master criminal Dr Fu Manchu. Quest of the Sacred Slipper involves a triangle between an American crook. Scotland Yard and an unknown Oriental. The sacred slipper, rumored to have been worn by the great Prophet Mahomet has been stolen. Strange and horrid happenings are occurring in London, Behind these inhuman outrages is secret group of fanatics trained from childhood to wreak havoc on all who dared disturb their sacred relics. Scotland Yard cannot apprehend this group who have never really been seen or heard.
