The Stranglers revisit their early days with ‘The Classic Collection’ reissue series.
The campaign sees Rhino Records reissue expanded CD editions of all of their early albums, from their 1977 debut ‘Rattus Norvegicus’ through to 1981’s ‘La Folie’. Each release in ‘The Classic Collection’ features the original album alongside special bonus tracks, which include non-album singles, b-sides and select rarities. The Raven is the fourth studio album from the Stranglers, originally released in September 1979. The album deals with a variety of issues including Japanese ritual suicide (“Ice”), heroin use (“(Don't Bring) Harry”), the Iranian Revolution (“Shah Shah a Go Go”) and Genetic engineering (“Genetix”).
