The Sims 4 is the 4th base instalment in The Sims Franchise.

The game itself can be considered a downgrade or an upgrade from The Sims 3 in different ways.

Cons: Babies are confined to Bassinets. There are no more Toddlers. There is no Open World, instead you have to load up each individual lot, even if a lot is in the neighbourhood your currently playing in. There is no Create-A-Style or Colour Wheel, you are limited to default colours and styles. There is no Create-A-World currently available. Vehicles appear in the game but there are no carpools, Sims just teleport to other lots or to their career/school. There are also no garages or vehicles that can be owned by your Sims.

Pros: The game has 19 Base Skills, some skills are old and some are new to the series, Skilling is now easier with the emotion system. The emotion system adds depth into a Sims personality, their traits affect their personality. Sims can now have over 20 Traits, only 3 from Create-A-Sim, completing an aspirations grants them a new trait and using lifetime rewards they can buy more traits. However, the emotion system can be flawed and Sims can often be perceived as being bipolar. Loading Speed. Although the game is filled with loading screens, you can't visit a house next to you without going through a loading screen, the loading screen is also bland but it's quicker. You can travel to new worlds and move houses to new worlds without losing progress (unlike The Sims 3) loading screens are faster and you get into the game and save it allot faster than in the previous iteration. Every neighbourhood is now almost always filled with Sims. New features such as collections have been added, things such as gardening has been improved. Patches have brought back better versions of Ghosts, Pools and Genealogy (family trees). Patches have also brought new items (Including Star Wars themed items) and new Careers.

Visually, it's a pretty cool game. The sims themselves have improved a lot since S3 and their reactions/social interactions have expanded a fair bit.

Gameplay is limited though, as is creativity. If you want to build a unique house, you really can't. They've gotten rid of Create-a-style and it sucks. The colour palate is limited to swatches and there aren't that many options in terms of furniture/things in the game.

Loading screens, loading screens everywhere. It feels like they're saving it all for EPs. I'd wait a bit, until the price comes down to buy this.

I really like The Sims 4, quicker load times and nicer graphics. Plays well on my laptop, with no performance issues…unlike The Sims 3. There has been alot more stuff added to the game with the newest patches eg; Swimming pools, basments etc, the game is just getting better and better. Looking forward to future expansions etc. This game is def worth buying. Mighty ape always dispatch there products promptly and on release day. Very happy with mighty apes service.
