Author Biography

An influential illustrator of children's books, Louis-Maurice Boutet de Monvel (1850-1913) was also a prominent painter. He is best known for his works related to Joan of Arc, which include a magnificent cycle of oil paintings at Washington's Corcoran Gallery of Art.
