Author Biography:

Dr. Alex Linley is a world authority on positive psychology and its applications, particularly strengths approaches. He is the Founding Director of the Centre of Applied Positive Psychology and Visiting Professor in Psychology at the University of Leicester, UK. Through his consulting work, he applies strengths to people management practices across the employee life cycle with organisations spanning the public and private sectors. He has written, co-written, or edited more than 130 research papers and book chapters, and six books, including Positive Psychology in Practice (Wiley, 2004), Average to A+:Realising Strengths in Yourself and Others (CAPP Press, 2008) and the Oxford Handbook of Positive Psychology and Work (Oxford University Press, 2009). Alex has served as Associate Editor of the Journal of Positive Psychology and the Encyclopedia of Positive Psychology (Blackwell, 2009), and is currently Co-Editor of the International Coaching Psychology Review. Dr. Janet Willars passionately enjoys discovering the talents and strengths of individuals, positioning them for success and allowing them the opportunities to use their talents both in and outside of the workplace every day. Janet has been involved in the work of strengths-based organisations for the last 15 years and has a wealth of experience in developing, conducting and analysing strengthsbased interviews. She has interviewed approximately 23,000 people, discovering strengths for the financial services sector, and both the service and retail industries. Janet also has experience of interview based qualitative research in industrial settings. Her work at CAPP focuses on in-depthA" assessments of individuals to uncover and understand their strengths; facilitating focus groups to identify the key strengths of talented individuals; developing interview strategies to allow the recruitment and retention of talent; and, training courses to facilitate a wider understanding of strengths and strengths-based interviews. Dr. Robert Biswas-Diener is widely known as the Indiana Jones of Positive PsychologyA" because his research on strengths and well-being has taken him to such far-flung destinations as Greenland, India and Kenya. He has published more than two dozen scientific articles and chapters on strengths and happiness. Robert is a Certified Mentor Coach and is Programme Director for Education & Learning at CAPP
