Description

Excerpt from The Works of Aristotle, Vol. 3: Meteoroligica; De Mundo; De Anima; Parva Naturalia; De Spiritu IN this volume the last part of the translation to be published takes its place immediately before the first part to be published, the Pam/a Naturalia, which appeared in 1908. I must ask the indulgence of readers for the long interval that has elapsed between the two. The Great War, the death of some of the contributors before their translations were completed, the necessity for a considerable interchange of views between translators and editor, - these have been among the causes of delay. I hope that by delay something has been gained as well as something lost; I am conscious of realizing much more fully now than I did in 1908 the nature of the problem of translating Aristotle, and I hope that the later contributors have learned something from the work of their predecessors. In the series as a whole, indexes have been placed some times after single works, sometimes after groups of works. It may help readers in the use of these if they are told exactly where to look for them. Indexes will be found as follows.
