A superb follow-up to the first two Thief games. This one is infinitely better looking, and big enough to be reasonably immersive. The “Asylum” mission is now accepted as one of the legendary moments of video gaming of all time.
There's only one catch: load times. They're long. They're really long. They're long enough that I found myself comparing load times on a C64 back in the early 1980s. But they're not just when you start the game up: every time you move to a new area, every time you load a game, even every time you quick-load. I think someone at Eidos wasn't too clear on what that last one is supposed to mean. I wouldn't want to re-play this game today without a RAID set-up.
But a game that you can only pick one flaw in –? It can't be doing too badly. This thing is a bargain at triple the price. If you haven't played it, get it.
