My favourite series to date! Christopher Pikes thrilling story of a ancient vampire coming to terms with what she has become, what she fears and how she can protect those she has come to love.
Sita was originally born in india in a time where krishna walked the planet. Sita has a very strong connection to his beliefs and follows his path of righteousness, when she is turned into a blood thirsty vampire how can she portray her love and kindness when she's a horrific killing machine?
The story is rich in detail and by half way through this first novel you know who the characters are what their beliefs, personality, dreams are and how the ancient world would have been like if you were standing right there with Sita.
Christopher has a unique story and i'm not much for religious storylines however he captured me with Sita's love for humanity and how she would do anything to become a normal being once again her pain is so heart wrenching.
However there is much action and grusome detail of her riding humanity of evil that walks the planet in the story which gripped me, Sita has abnormal abilities when she is threatened or her loved ones are threatened there is NOTHING she wont do to protect them ;] throughout the novel she is always improving her powers and putting herself in danger time and time again to protect the human race from evil we could not even imagine. I was impressed with her smarts and abilities to ward off enemies. After finishing this novel I was hanging for the next book and I felt I knew Sita personally I believe this could be a top 100 story!
Thrilling, action packed, heart wrenching and very detailed. A must read story if you like vampires you WILL be on the edge of your seat!
