Trico Leader of the Pack and the ways of love is an adventure that begins when our hero, as a mere puppy, is accidently abandoned and becomes homeless, but not for long. As he's merrily strolling along the side of the rode an animal control officer scoops him up. After he's locked in a cage he fills his time engineering ideas to set himself free. Before he can execute his plan, Bonnie, a wealthy spinster arrives, adopts him, and names him Trico. She declares her love; not aware of what love is, the feeling isn't mutual. Trico decides to escape his cozy abode for the joys of freedom. Instead he encounters a world where packs of stray dogs roam the streets in search of survival. Trico joins a pack and later organizes a team of his own. Thus begins an extraordinary chain of events that guide his band of renegades into a unique life of service to humanity. Through the ways of love Trico's and his pack become famous and are known as the "Canine Guardians of Peace".
