Author Biography

Elizabeth Peters was named Grand Master at the inaugural Anthony Awards in 1986 and by the Mystery Writers of America at the Edgar Awards in 1998. She is the author of more than 60 novels - including the internationally reknowned Amelia Peabody mystery series. She had a PhD in Egyptology from the University of Chicago's famed Oriental Institute.

She is internationally celebrated for her mystery stories (especially those featuring her indomitable Victorian heroine, Amelia Peabody). She earned her PhD in Egyptology from University of Chicago's famed Oriental Institute. Named Grandmaster at the Anthony Awards in 1986 and Grandmaster by the Mystery Writers of America in 1998, in 2003, she received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Malice Domestic Convention. She lives in an historic farmhouse in Frederick, Maryland, with six cats and two dogs.
