It is not intended to claim literary merit for the following pages; the desire of the authors being to state as simply and truthfully as possible what they ob served in a part of the earth till now little known but which, given good roads and a just and um ambitious government, will offer a field for religious and mercantile enterprises of the utmost importance to the human race.
