It is important that we understand what the kingdom of God is. The kingdom of God was the central theme of Jesus' message and purpose during His ministry on the earth. Beyond that, the kingdom is foreshadowed in the Old Testament, demonstrated to us by the life and teachings of Jesus, and given to us as the ultimate fulfillment of God's purpose in the earth and throughout eternity. If we are to be true disciples, then we must come back to the understanding that the kingdom is what God is about and where He ultimately intends to take the whole of His creation.

Author Biography

Given to Know Ministries is the teaching ministry of Steve Shirreffs. He is a called teacher to the Body of Christ with an emphasis on sound doctrine to preach and teach the principles of the kingdom of God. He has over twenty five years of disciplined study and ministry experience ranging from drug and alcohol group programs, family and marriage counseling, and as a church pastor. Steve holds two college degrees, a Bachelor of Arts in Interpersonal and Group Communication and a Bachelor of Ministry in Theology. Steve is called to teach and preach the Gospel of the kingdom of God as both our present reality and our future hope, and to see churches, families and individuals walk in the fullness of all that Jesus has won for us through His life, death, resurrection and authority! The basis is sound doctrine founded on Biblical truth - the proclamation of the fact that Jesus is Lord and there is no other! Steve and his wife Robin have been married for over thirty years and have three adult children, Hannah, Joshua and Kara. They currently reside in Conyers, Ga.
