For this volume, Joyce K. Bibber, recently retired from the University of Southern Maine's history faculty, has made extensive use of the university's own archives and has also searched through numerous other public and private collections to assemble photographs from all the university's "roots" in order to detail their growth and illustrate the many changes along the way. Picture subjects include not only the buildings constructed or purchased, but also groups of early faculty and students, plus a variety of student activities, from practice teaching and basketball to picnics and dances. Joyce K. Bibber taught at the University of Southern Maine, including some of its earlier forms, for thirty-two years. This is her fifth volume for Arcadia Publishing.
