I was unable to change modes on this camera. It has three modes, connecting to another device over wifi (doesn't seem safe in my opinion), recording on it's and night vision.

It turned out that I had put a memory card in it that was too large. Minimum size is 32gbs. This is unfortunate because we wanted to use it as a security camera.
