Ciarán Murphy is a professional writer and journalist from Waterford city in Ireland. He graduated from Dublin City University (DCU) in 2004 with an MA in Journalism (Honours). He has written countless stories for newspapers such as The Irish Times, Irish Examiner and Irish Independent, along with making contributions to Hot Press magazine and Ireland's State broadcaster, RTE. His performance as a ruined developer in his own monologue, The Lane, won him the Adjudicator's Award at the 123 Festival of Drama in Dungarvan, Co. Waterford, in 2009. Meanwhile, his play, All Fall Down, appeared at the Imagine Arts Festival in the city in 2011. What Happens on Tour..., his first book, was launched at the Immrama Festival of Travel Writing in Lismore in June 2012. He is currently starting the final chapter in his debut novel, a pulsating science fiction work entitled '5:19'.
