Born in 1926, Jean-Pierre Rosnay founded the quarterly Vivre En Po--sie in 1983 and the renowned Club des Po--tes in Paris. A prominent member of the post-war Parisian intellectual community, he became associated with Boris Vian, Juliette Greci, Isidore Isou and others, while his writing was deeply influenced by the post-Surrealist movement. This major new collection of his poetry, translated and with an introduction by J. Kates, is Rosnay's first to be published in English.
Influenced by figures such as Paul Eluard, Robert Desnos and Raymond Queneau, Rosnay has long been a major figure of poetry in Paris. Jim Kates is the editor of Zephyr Press and a long-time translator.
