William Daniell's Isle of Skye and Raasay brings together 17 aquatint prints and 10 pencil sketches from the Hebridean islands of Eigg, Rum, Skye and Raasay, and photographs showing these views as they are today.
At school, at the age of 15, John Garvey was faced with the difficult choice between art and science, and chose science. He continued, however, to paint in watercolours until 1995, when he switched to the design and manufacture of leaded glass panels. His other hobbies include hill climbing and walking, and gardening. He is still interested in the progress in physics research, and is a member of the ATLAS experiment on the Large Hadron Collider in CERN, Geneva. He is married and has one grown up son.
