Growers for shorn wool in 1966 is expected to be moderately above the cents a pound, grease basis, received in 1965 Prices during March and April 1966 averaged cents a pound, or 9 percent above a year earlier. The higher price level in 1966 is due to the higher level of U. S. Mill activity resulting in part from military buying, and increasing prices of wool on the world market. The current general price level will likely prevail through mid summer. Domestic shorn wool prices each month in early 1966 were above a year earlier. Most of the wool clip will likely be sold before the end of June. However, wool prices are also expected to remain above year - earlier levels during the rest of 1966. Prices at Boston during April 1966 for domestic graded territory and fleece wool averaged 2 percent above January 1966 and 13 percent above a year earlier.
