Write Left visualizes the experiences of a Canadian-Trinidadian girl. She depicts her experiences with fresh eyes. She highlights moments of difference from childhood to adulthood in her Mississauga community in Ontario, Canada.Sujaya's book, Write Left, is dedicated to her late grandfather, her Nana. Sujaya looks at age, gender, and questions tradition as her surroundings evolve.

Author Biography:

The name 'Sujaya Devi' originated in Nepal and translates to "glorious victory or triumph." Sujaya is a second generation Canadian whose roots return to Trinidad and Tobago, India, and Nepal. Sujaya has been a 'Sauga City kid from the beginning and loves The Neighbourhood. Sujaya is passionate about equity and empathy. She hopes her work leads to positive change. Sujaya graduated from the University of Toronto with majors in Communications, Culture, Information and Technology, and Professional Writing and Communications. Sujaya studies at the University of Toronto's Faculty of Information where she is completing her Master's degree in Information. Sujaya is deist, feminist, vegetarian, yet calm. She's an ambivert. Sujaya continues to write (left) in preparation for her second book.
