Author Biography:

Deborah Meister is an editor for Bayard, Inc. and an author with years of experience in education and parish ministry. Her former positions include editor for Liguori Publications and coordinator of family life for the Archdiocese of St. Louis, where she helped develop a comprehensive marriage-preparation program. She is a certified CRE/DRE and pastoral minister and holds master's degrees in theology and literature as well as a graduate certificate in pastoral care. She continues to serve parishes and publishers, especially in the realm of faith formation, spirituality and devotions, and catechesis. Her works have been published in a variety of print, audio, and digital media. Deborah Meister is married and the mother of two adult daughters. Charles E. Bouchard, OP, is Senior Director, Theology and Ethics, at the Catholic Health Association. He previously served as provincial of the Central Dominican Province and professor and president of Aquinas Institute of Theology in St. Louis. Fr. Bouchard writes and lectures on health care ethics, spirituality, and morality. El P. Charles E. Bridget Brennan, a native of St. Louis, is the founder and president of the Cana Institute, which provides training, counseling, and support for married couples and families. She offers relationship coaching and teaches courses on marriage preparation to program leaders. She and her husband present retreats and workshops for engaged and married couples and coauthored Claiming Our Deepest Desires: The Power of an Intimate Marriage (Liturgical Press). A former director of religious education, Bridget holds degrees in religious studies and human relations. Deacon Burke-Sivers founded and is president of Servant Enterprises, Inc., a Catholic evangelization and apologetics organization that coordinates speaking tours and seminars, retreats, and develops products and services that support marriage and family life. Deacon Harold lives in Portland, Oregon, with his wife, Colleen, and their four children. Fr. Echert is a priest of the Archdiocese of St. Paul-Minneapolis and a senior Air Force chaplain for the 133rd Airlift Wing of the Minnesota Air National Guard. His service to civilian parishes and the military spans decades. He is also a former professor of sacred Scripture for the Saint Paul Seminary School of Divinity and adjunct faculty member at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul. A Scripture forum expert for EWTN, he holds a licentiate in sacred Scripture from the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome. Dr. Fagerberg teaches liturgical theology at the University of Notre Dame and is a former director and advisor to the Notre Dame Center for Liturgy. He is an accomplished author and holds multiple degrees, including a doctorate from Yale University. He and his wife, Elizabeth, have been married for more than forty years and have two adult sons. Dr. Heaney-Hunter teaches pastoral theology at St. John's University in New York. She holds a doctorate in theology from Fordham University and a master's in mental health counseling from Long Island University, both in New York state, where she is licensed to practice mental health counseling. She is an internationally recognized speaker, author, and educator on marriage and family ministry in the Catholic Church. She coauthored Unitas, a pair of couples and leaders guides on marriage preparation, for Crossroad Publishing. Cassandra Hough is the founder and senior advisor of the Love and Fidelity Network, a national program that equips the next generation of leaders with the arguments and resources they need to advocate for marriage, family, and sexual integrity. Previously known to some as Cassy DeBenedetto, she is an active voice against the college hookup culture in and around the Princeton community. Now married and the mother of three, she has been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, and elsewhere. Dr. Jim�nez, born in Veracruz, Mexico, graduated medical school with an interest in natural family planning and earned her master's in human reproduction in 2007. In 2011, she studied, provided, and practiced the Creighton Method and NaPro Technology under Dr. Thomas Hilgers of the Pope Paul VI Institute for the Study of Human Reproduction in Omaha. In 2013, she opened the first such clinic in Latin America, offering couples training, support, diagnoses, and treatments that don't compromise Catholic faith or morals. Phil Lenahan has been with the Catholic Answers apostolate since 1995. During 2005, Lenahan stepped into a part-time role at Catholic Answers to begin working with Our Sunday Visitor to develop the materials for the 7 Steps to Becoming Financially Free Group Study and to launch Veritas Financial Ministries. He now resides in Temecula, California, with his wife Chelsey and their seven children. Coleen Kelly Mast, an internationally known author and speaker on Catholic family life, has assisted the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Vatican on developing teachings on the family and human sexuality. She hosts the radio show Mast Appeal and cohosts The Dr. Is In on Ave Maria and EWTN Radio. She authored the Love and Life and Sex Respect chastity-education programs, and she gives Pre-Cana presentations. Coleen holds an honorary doctorate and a master's degree in health education. She is married and the mother of five. Dr. Olsen is assistant director of the Office for Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs for the Archdiocese of Chicago and an adjunct professor of theology at St. Xavier University, Chicago, and The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota. He holds a doctorate in constructive theology from Loyola University Chicago. His dissertation explored the pastoral gifts and challenges to be found in the experiences of interchurch families. He lives in suburban Chicago with his wife and two young children. Dr. Smith is a professor in the Psychology Department at the University of Notre Dame, where he teaches and supervises doctoral marital therapy trainees. He is a licensed and board-certified psychologist and received his doctorate from SUNY Stony Brook. As director of the Marital Therapy and Research Clinic, he studies the links between depression and marital discord with observational studies of interspousal criticism and destructive marital attributions, at times using an experimental gaming model of forgiveness.
