Spooky Reads for Halloween!

By Stacey

Halloween is here almost here and if you're like me there's possibly nothing better to do than coming home after a night out and rendering yourself stationary with a good book, a bowl of sweets and black cat to keep your lap cosy… Besides handing out candy to adorable visiting ghosts of course.

That being said, most of us have a favourite Halloween read but if you're looking for something new we've got a fantastic spooky new releases in thriller to true stories and horror.

Here's what's on my reading list this year:

The House on Cold Hill by Peter James

Ollie Harcourt has dreamed of living in the country since he was a child, and with its acres of land, he sees Cold Hill House as a paradise for his animal-loving daughter, a base for his web-design business and a terrific long-term investment.

His wife Caro is less certain, and Jade is grumpy about being removed from all her friends.

But within days of moving in, it soon becomes apparent that the Harcourt family aren't the only residents in the house.

The Witches, Salem 1962 by Pulitzer Prize winning author Stacy Schiff

I am really looking forward to this!

Vividly capturing the dark, unsettled atmosphere of seventeenth-century America, Stacy Schiff's magisterial history draws us into this anxious time. She shows us how a band of adolescent girls brought the nascent colony to its knees, and how quickly the epidemic of accusations, trials, and executions span out of control.

As psychologically thrilling as it is historically seminal, as magnificently written as it is deeply researched, THE WITCHES breathes new life into one of history's most enduring mysteries.

The Walking Dead Compendium

Just in time for the new season of The Walking Dead, New York Times best-seller series returns with its third massive paperback collection!

With over 1,000 pages, this volume contains the next chapter of Robert Kirkman's Eisner Award-winning continuing story of survival horror.

Rick Grimes dream of rebuilding civilization is tested as the people of Alexandria come into contact with other communities that have developed their own methods of survival.

Remember to swing by the Halloween Sale for some extra spooky treats!
