Description

45 YEARS OF 2000 AD To celebrate forty-five years of bringing Thrill-Power to Earthlets everywhere, Tharg the Mighty has tasked forty-five of Earth's most popular comic book artists and illustrators to interpret some of the galaxy of characters featured in the pages of the Galaxy's Greatest Comic, 2000 AD, over the last four and a half decades. This book features a frontispiece by Stewart K. Moore and all-new work by Jamie Smart (Bunny vs Monkey), Hannah Templer (GLOW, TMNT), Michael Allred (Madman, Silver Surfer), Kevin O'Neill (League of Extraordinary Gentlemen), Sean Phillips (Reckless, The Fade Out), Colleen Doran (Sandman, A Distant Soil) and many more, bringing new life and fresh perspectives to some of comics' greatest creations.

Author Biography:

Michael Dalton Allred is an American comic book artist and writer most famous for his independent comics creations, Madman and iZombie. His style is often compared to pop art, as well as commercial and comic art of the 1950s and 1960s. Outside the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic, Kevin O’Neill was briefly notorious as the only artist ever to have his work rejected wholesale by the Comics Code Authority! Happily, his notoriety quickly became fame and acclaim, as his work on strips like Marshal Law and most recently The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen have raised him to a very high profile. O’Neill’s other work includes Green Lantern and Batman. Kevin O’Neill is a 2000 AD legend. From working as an art assistant on the very first prog, he quickly became involved in the creative side of the comic, co-creating classics like A.B.C. Warriors, Bonjo From Beyond The Stars, Metalzoic and Nemesis the Warlock. O’Neill has also written for the comic on strips including Dash Decent, Future Shocks, One-Offs, Tharg the Mighty, and has illustrated Future Shocks, Judge Dredd, M.A.C.H. 0, One-Offs, Ro-Busters, Ro-Jaws’ Robo-Tales, Tharg the Mighty and Torquemada. Henry Flint, winner of the National Comics Awards for Best Comic Artist 2004, is one of the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic’s rising superstars. Co-creator of Sancho Panzer, Shakara, and the fan-favourite strip, Zombo, his incredibly versatile pencils have also graced A.B.C. Warriors, Judge Dredd/Aliens, Deadlock, Judge Dredd, Rogue Trooper, Nemesis the Warlock, The V.C.’s and Venus Bluegenes. He has even written a Tharg’s Alien Invasions strip! He has also worked on several American comics, including Omega Men, Haunted Tank and Fear Itself: Fearsome Four. Away from the comics industry, Henry produced art of the cover of DJ Food’s 2012 album, The Search Engine.
