Author Biography:

Dr. Olalere Olusegun Abayomi is an experienced researcher with demonstrated multidisciplinary expertise in Chemical Engineering Science, Food Biotechnology, Nutraceuticals Processing and Analytical Chemistry. He finished his PhD from the University Malaysia Pahang with a specialization in Chemical and Natural Resources Engineering. Before that he obtained his master’s degree in Industrial and Production Engineering from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Dr Olalere had his first degree in Chemical Engineering from the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Nigeria. He has authored over 60 research articles in Scopus and Web of Science and has been cited more than 1000 times. He currently works as a visiting researcher at the Innovation Incubator University (I2U), Universiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia. He is an active reviewer for many journals, and is presently an Associate Editor at the Jundishapur Journal of Natural Pharmaceutical Products. Dr. Abiola Ezekiel Taiwo is a Chemical Engineer, Lecturer, and Researcher, a recipient of the National Research Foundation (NRF) and The World Academy of Science (TWAS) African Renaissance Doctoral Fellowship grant at Cape Peninsula University of Technology, South Africa between 2016-2019. He was awarded the Green Chemistry best price in the 2017 Elsevier Foundation – TWAS Sustainability Case Studies Competition award in Rio de Janeiro Brazil. He is a member of American Chemical Society (ACS), South African Institute of Chemical Engineers (SAIChE), Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE, London), Council for the regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), and Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE). He is currently a Research Fellow at the Faculty of Engineering, Mangosuthu University of Technology, Durban, South Africa. Dr. Taiwo has published in reputational journals and book chapters and serves as a reviewer of many high-impact journals and book review processes. Assoc. Prof. Dr Gan Chee Yuen is an academic staff of the Analytical Biochemistry Research Centre (ABrC) in Universiti Sains Malaysia. He is also a deputy director for the department. His research is specializing in bioactive peptides/polysaccharides which are extracted from various agricultural sources using enzyme technology. He managed to publish almost a hundred journals and was actively involved as a reviewer (over 300 articles). His works have been cited more than 2500 times. In addition, he is also professionally recognized as a science consultant. Prof. Paul Musaonge is a retired Research Professor at the Faculty of Engineering at the Mangosuthu University of Technology and a Researcher in Residence at Institute of Systems Science at the Durban University of Technology, Durban, in South Africa. He obtained a PhD in Chemical Engineering at the Imperial College of Science and Technology, London in 1983. Prior to Retirement, he served as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment at the Durban University of Technology, in South Africa. He served as a permanent academic staff member from the rank of Lecturer/Senior Research Fellow to Professorship at various Chemical Engineering Departments. He has published over 100 publications in peer-reviewed accredited scientific journals, conferences, and technical reports. Supervised over 200 students at the postgraduate level and over 300 students at the undergraduate level. Examined over 100 Master's and Doctoral dissertations globally. Dr. Bernardo Castro-Dominguez is an Assistant Professor (Tenured) in Chemical Engineering and lead of the Smart Process Engineering Lab at the University of Bath (UK). His research has focused on the integration of digital technologies for materials discovery and process design and optimization. He has >30 publications in scientific journals (e.g. Nat Comm), 3 book chapters, and one patent, and manages a research portfolio of >£1.3 million. He is a core member of the Institute for Sustainability, the EPSRC Continuous Manufacturing Hub (CMAC), and Deputy Director of the Centre for Digital, Design, and Manufacturing at the University of Bath. Dr. Castro-Dominguez has worked as a researcher at the University of Limerick (Ireland) and Worcester Polytechnic Institute (US). He was a recipient of the prestigious Monbukagakusho Scholarship to pursue his PhD studies at the University of Tokyo (Japan) in the area of Chemical Systems Engineering. Dr. Castro-Dominguez holds a BSc and MSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Utah (US). Dr Olawumi Sadare is a researcher associate in the Department of Chemical Engineering, at The University of Bath, United Kingdom. She holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from The University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. She has published in some leading international peer-reviewed journals in Chemical Engineering and Applied Sciences. She has attended several national and international scientific conferences. She currently has >25 publications in scientific journals, and 6 book chapters. She was an editorial board member of the American Journal of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering (2021), and co-guest editor for the Special issue "Membrane Applications in Biological Remediation & Purification of biologics (Membranes (IF:4.106) (2022). It is noteworthy to mention that ‘Wumi was one of the recipients of the famous L’Oreal-UNESCO for Women in Science, Sub-Saharan African Fellowship in 2017, and Newton International fellowship in 2022, attesting to her promising research capacity and leadership in Chemical Engineering.
