He is the author of Flamenco Deep Song; Blood Sport: A Social History of Spanish Bullfighting; Passional Culture: Emotion, Religion, and Society in Southern Spain; and Violence and Piety in Spanish Folklore, all of which have been published by the University of Pennsylvania Press.
