I’m really surprised that this book was only written this year, as it’s based on the very outdated concept that dogs are constantly trying to dominate us, and we must somehow assert ourselves as pack leader in order to gain control of them. If you are interested in any sort of modern, science-based approach, please do not buy this book!

I found this book helpful when training my dog. Her methods allow you to work with your dog. Not to dominate your dog. Teaches you to look for natural tendencies and use them to help train your dog. I felt I was getting a lifetime of knowledge and experience in these pages.

If you have a dog, or you're planning to get a dog, or need a present for a friend with a dog, then this is it! Very readable with lots of practical tips and case studies, Selina's passion shines through the pages. Easy to read in one go, but with an excellent contents so you can flick to the right information when you need it. I wish Selina had written this book when I first adopted my dog. I'm already re-reading it so I can pick out some more training tips to try.
