Description

This is a technical book that discusses the genetics of the carotenoid pathway and the role it plays in producing white, cream, red, orange, and yellow flowers. Transposons (aka jumping genes) are also discussed and their role in producing plicata flowers. Much of this information can be transferred to other floral species and fruits. A discussion of floral genetic domains was added to the second edition.
