Author Biography:

Michael Hastings was the author of 17 plays which include The World's Baby, Lee Harvey Oswald, The Silence of Saint-Just, Stars of the Roller State Disco, The Emperor (with Jonathan Miller), A Dream Of People, Unfinished Business and The Dance of the American Rattlesnake. He adapted Pirandello's Six Characters in Search of an Author for BBC2 Performance series, and wrote the essay 'Rupert Brooke: The Handsomest Man in England'. His awards include the Academy of Arts and Sciences EMMY Award, the Somerset Maugham Award, the Evening Standard Comedy of the Year Award and BAFTA and Writer's Guild Awards.
