Description

Looking back to events 130 years ago, this gripping biography offers the true account of the legendary Nez Perce leader, Chief Joseph, best known for his speech upon surrendering his Nez Perce tribe to the U.S. Government. By the time of the formal surrender, Joseph was widely referred to in the American press as “the Red Napoleon.” White culture elevated him to heroic, even iconic, status, while effectively erasing the Nez Perce people themselves from the national consciousness. Here is his story.
