Description

This manual demonstrates how to create quilts with the cotton candy colours and designs of the mid-20th century. It discusses the quilts and fabrics of the "near past", from the 1920s to the 1970s, and explores finding, collecting and using vintage fabrics (feedsacks and by-the-yard) and today's popular reproductions. There are five quilt projects based on traditional designs, made with the fabrics of the past. A gallery of quilts is also presented, and includes both replicas of vintage quilts and new versions inspired by the originals.

Author Biography:

Mary Mashuta's love of fabric and color led her to two degrees in home economics. She has been teaching quiltmaking since 1985. Cotton Candy Quilts is her fourth book on quilting for C&T Publishing. Mary lives in Berkeley, California, with her twin sister and fellow quilter Roberta Horton.
