Description

Sometimes babies come into a family in the old-fashioned way, but sometimes parents need to try extra hard to have a baby and have to go to a doctor for help. But mommies and daddies don't mind taking a few extra steps if it means their dream of having a baby can come true! Written in beautiful, heartfelt simple verse, From Your First Heartbeat is a love story for all children born through IVF to help them understand how much their parents wanted them and how special they truly are. This book is a must-read for all IVF families and a beautiful reassurance for their children that regardless of which path their parents took- with a doctor, donor, or surrogate-they are loved and cherished.

Author Biography:

Tara Bushby wrote From Your First Heartbeat to help parents talk to their children born through IVF about how they came to be and normalize the process. Tara says, "Thanks to IVF, my husband and I have two loving children we can't imagine not having in our lives. I wanted to create something to read to them in their early years so they know how much we love them and that we wouldn't change anything we did to have them in our lives." In addition to being a mother and a writer, Tara is an entrepreneur and an artist known for painting abstract acrylic landscapes. She and her family live on Vancouver Island in British Columbia. Look for Tara's first book, Faith and the Forest, a delightful, educational story for preschool children.
