Author Biography:

Gus Wright is a member of the faculty in the Truck and Coach program at Centennial College in Ontario, Canada. A diesel enthusiast, he currently teaches apprentice technicians the latest technology in trucks, buses, and off-road equipment. He has worked for more than 35 years in the industry, earning multiple trade qualifications and creating technician curriculum for both corporate and college level education. He is also the author of Fundamentals of Medium/Heavy Duty Diesel Engines (Jones and Bartlett Learning, 2017) and co-author of Fundamentals of Medium/Heavy Duty Commercial Vehicle Systems (Jones and Bartlett Learning, 2017). A university graduate, he actively engages in applied research related to engine emissions, alternate fuels, and HD electrical technology. Owen C. Duffy is a motive power instructor in the Truck and Coach program at Centennial College in Ontario, Canada. In the past 19 years, he has taught several thousand apprenticeship and post-secondary students as they pursued a career in the diesel field. He holds Red Seal license qualifications in truck coach, automotive, and alternative fuels, and he has over 40 years of experience in the industry. He holds a college certificate in adult education and has been active in technician curriculum development and deployment at the college level. He is also co-author of Fundamentals of Medium/Heavy Duty Commercial Vehicle Systems (Jones and Bartlett Learning, 2017). Scott A. Heard holds an Ontario College diploma in Heavy Duty Equipment Technology, and Red Seal Certificates as a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician, Truck and Coach Technician, and Automotive Technician. Generally passionate about all things related to Heavy Equipment, Scott spent 25 years in the field working as a technician for Caterpillar and a large construction contractor before becoming a motive power educator, author, and program coordinator at an Ontario Heavy Equipment College. Scott has also participated in developing the National Occupational Analysis for Heavy Duty Equipment Technician and has been part of several Provincial Curriculum development committees.
