Nigerien rock icon Mdou Moctar returns with Funeral for Justice. It’s the sound of a band united in their defiance of colonial powers and channelling that rage through feedbacking guitars and unflinching political lyrics. Though inspired by the turmoil in Niger, the message is universal and vital. WOMAD 2023, Mdou and the band took to the Bowl Stage (and the Gables ) to play two incredible sets!
