Description

Gemma is having a difficult time at pre-school in this wonderful short story. She wanted to share her book with Jaypal but he took it away. Can Gemma be brave and get her book back? A series of heart warming short stories about a mixed race little girl called Gemma. This bright and humours little pre-schooler, shares her every day experiences with other young children and infants, in the hope that the adult sharing this story with them, will discuss any issues, fears or concerns raised. This will support the development of the child's social and emotional intelligence. Having an opportunity to discuss fears and anxieties can reduce stress and encourage positive mental health and a sense of well being.

Author Biography:

Mrs. Myrah S. Duckworth I qualified as a teacher in 1996 with a B.Ed (Hons) degree in English. I have been teaching in primary and secondary schools for over twenty years. I have taught English, Drama, Maths, Science, P.E., PSHE and Social Studies. I have been a Foundation Learning teacher, form tutor, head of year, head of P.E., Out of hours learning co-ordinator, School Sports Co-ordinator and Enterprise co-ordinator. I have specialised in teaching children and young people with social and emotional difficulties, challenging behaviour and special educational needs such as Autism and Dyslexia. I have worked with children and young people from nursery to post 16. I have also taught students with English as an additional language. I very much enjoyed being a host Mum to students studying English in Birmingham. I have worked with children and young people as a project worker and sports coach. I also currently do mentoring and life coaching. I am blessed to know an amazing team of highly qualified and skilled individuals who have supported me to create this wonderful series of books and for that I am very grateful. I love writing stories for children and young people and feel my purpose is to help everyone to be their true being and to shine with the star dust that they are made of. I see each person with love. I believe all things are possible if we stay in the love and light and by the good grace of The Most High. Namaste. xxx
